Math Post Week 11

Tailored specifically for each students need, prior assessments.
connections to your future teaching, your placement, or previous experiences.
home and community (not just facts), conceptual knowledge (not just the regurgitation of the lone example), provides feedback (helping to grow and build), build on prior knowledge (the better the connections, the better the memory as well as understanding), uses a variety of tools (this can come in the form of anything and everything that can benefit learning and comprehension), relevant (so as to see the importance and not bore them too badly),

How can you ensure your students develop a conceptual understanding of geometry and spatial sense?
What is the hardest part about planning a lesson?
How can you make sure a lesson is student centered?

puzzles/challenges, imagination, real life experience, easy examples to build confidence/ make it seem understanding is innate.
One of the things that i really liked about the presentations was how she chose our Hands as something we can try and measure, this I think was a brilliant idea because it makes the work more personal and intimate to each students, and then there is also the added benefit that each student will probably be a lot more curios to figure out how big their hands are as opposed to how big some random object is, so they will be more engaged in the work.
